Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern your use of GoalCents (the "Service"). You accept them when you create an account, and we record which version you accepted and when. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

Description of the Service

GoalCents is a personal finance tracking application that lets you manually record transactions, set budgets, track goals, and view spending summaries. The Service does not connect to banks or financial institutions and does not provide financial advice.

Your account

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately at expirify.team@gmail.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Fees

The Service is currently free to use. If we introduce paid features, we will say so before you are asked to pay, and you will never be charged without agreeing to the price first. Any purchase made through the Apple App Store is also subject to Apple's terms, and refunds for those purchases are handled by Apple.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
• Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service.

Your data

You own the financial data you enter into GoalCents. We do not claim any ownership over it. You may export or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we store and protect your data.

No financial advice

GoalCents is a tool for recording and visualizing your own financial data. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Always consult a qualified professional for advice specific to your situation.

This includes every calculated figure, projection, suggestion, and ranking the Service produces, such as the in-app suggestions and the calculators on this website. They are computed from the figures you enter, using assumptions that are stated where they are used, and they are estimates rather than professional advice. Contribution limits, tax rates, and deadlines change, and you are responsible for confirming them with the relevant authority before acting.

Service availability

We aim to keep GoalCents available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, GoalCents and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from within the app, which deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that harms other users or us. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you an opportunity to export your data.

Apps downloaded from the Apple App Store

The following applies to the GoalCents iOS app obtained through the Apple App Store:

• These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
• Apple is not responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, or for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and intellectual property claims.
• You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a relevant trade embargo and are not on a prohibited or restricted party list.
• You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict of laws rules. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court with jurisdiction. Nothing here limits any consumer protection right you have under the mandatory law of the place where you live.

General

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the unenforceable provision is applied as narrowly as the law allows. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page, and the app will ask you to accept the new version. If a change is material, continued use after we ask constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
